Planta Tacon is a collection of 25 drawings inspired by Flamenco culture where the eye focuses on body movement, and the rhythm of the footwork and palmas. Flamenco first captured my attention in Barcelona. My mind was elsewhere as I walked through a subway station, but the echoes from the vigorous stomping were hard to ignore. From then, I was hooked, and to this day my fascination persists. Flamenco, for me in particular, is the manifestation of a human’s dialogue with their inner child. The movements describe an impulsive journey of pride, impotence, passion, grief, revenge, and rumination upon crossing paths with the innermost self.
